Every so often, a theater show comes along
that completely captivates the world. Back in the late 1990s, that show was Mamma Mia! and it has continued its reign as a
top theater show ever since. It conquered both London's West End and New York's Broadway before becoming a sensation all over
the world. Make sure you catch the show in Winnipeg.
The story of Mamma Mia! begins telling
the story of a 20-year-old woman, Sophie, who was raised on a Greek island by her mother. She is about to get married, but
wants to invite her father to the wedding. The problem is, she doesn't know who her father is, but she narrows it down to
three men based on her mother's diary. She invites all three unbeknownst to her mother.
Even if you have never seen Mamma Mia! before, there is a good chance you know many of the songs in the score. That is
because the score is made up of the top hits from the Swedish pop group ABBA. Among the songs that made the score are "Honey,
Honey," "Mamma Mia," "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance on Me" and many more.
