About Martin Sexton
Singer and songwriter Martin
Sexton showed an interest in music at a young age, and he taught himself how to play the guitar. By high school, he was already
honing his musical talents by playing in a variety of bands, playing covers from the likes of Led Zeppelin and the Beatles.
Martin eventually relocated to Boston to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional musician. Although the radio was dominated
by synth-driven pop songs during this time, Martin longed for the days of classic rock. Once in Boston, Martin started performing
his folk-rock songs locally and he began to generate a small fan following. By 1992, he had released "In The Journey," which
consisted of various demos that were recorded during this time. While performing on the streets and in coffee shops, Martin
ended up selling thousands of copies of his self-produced cassette.
In 1996, Martin released his album, "Black Sheep",
which was met with praise by fans and critics alike, and it would pave the way for his future success on albums like "The
American," "Wonder Bar," and "Live Wide Open." The success of Martin Sexton's incredible albums allowed him to tour extensively,
joining acts from the likes of Art Garfunkel and Jackson Browne on tour.
Martin Sexton continued to release a number
of acclaimed albums throughout the years that followed, with "Seeds" being one of the most successful. Released in 2007, "Seeds"
entered the Heatseekers chart at the number 6 position, with folk music fans quickly scrambling to get their hands on the
album. His 2009 album, "Solo," was also a hit, and it earned him an Independent Music Award in the category of Best Live Performance
