Erie, Pennsylvania isn't a big city. Fortunately, it lays claim to the Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center, a venue located on the campus of Mercyhurst College. Since opening in 1996, the facility has transformed the arts in the community, providing concert and theater tickets to a wide range of eclectic events and giving national artists a stage to express themselves on.
The Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center cost $3.7 million to establish back in 1996, with just four employees and a mission to bring high-quality arts to the city of Eerie. Everything from dance to drama and jazz concerts was placed on the schedule. In those early years, nearly 4,000 guests per year would visit the venue and take in the many performances there.
More than 100 events are planned for the Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center each year, bringing in many fans of the arts and exposing the community to new thoughts and ideas. In addition to concerts and theater events, there's the Guelcher Film Series, The Metropolitan Opera HD: Live series, and the NY's 92nd Street Y Broadcast series to enjoy.
