Maryland Terrapins Football Schedule

Maryland Terrapins Football Schedule - Maryland Football Schedule

Maryland Terrapins Football Schedule

The Maryland Terrapins are ready to hit the field this season in an effort to claim as many victories as possible. The Terps are back and ready for action, making it the perfect time to get off the couch and come see them take on all the top teams in the Big Ten. With a schedule loaded with big-time matchups, you can't go wrong with heading out to any of the games that they'll be talking about around campus. The Terps are looking to rack up the wins this season, which is never an easy task in a tough conference like the Big Ten.

The Terrapins will most definitely be looking forward to hosting the Ohio State Buckeyes on October 4th. The Buckeyes are routinely one of the top teams in the nation, and will be a big challenge for Maryland. A victory against the Buckeyes would be a huge upset for the Terps any season, and the team is hoping to pull it off in 2014. This game will see the stands packed with Terps fans looking to see what could be the biggest Maryland win of the season.

Another Big Ten clash that will weigh heavily on how things shake out for Maryland this season is their matchup with the Michigan State Spartans on November 15th. The Spartans were the best teams in the Big Ten last season, and should be a real threat to win the conference title yet again. If the Terps can take down the Spartans it would show the rest of the conference that Maryland is one of the best teams in the Big Ten. There is a multitude of other great games on the schedule this season, so make sure to check it out so you don't miss a contest.

Maryland Terrapins History

The Maryland Terrapins football program dates all the way back to the 1890s, and the team has had a slew of memorable moments since then. Known for an exceptional sports program and a prominent basketball team, the Terrapins also shine on the football field, though it's never easy playing in the always competitiveACC.The Terps have won more than 600 games over the years, and they've been able to capture 11 conference titles along the way. In 1953 Maryland was able to win the National Championship, their only time claiming the title. The Terps are always working towards recapturing the magic of that 1953 season, and fans are hoping that it could be this year that they return to the promised land. The history of this program continues to grow with every passing game.
