Mayday Parade Background

Mayday Parade was formed in Tallahassee, Florida in 2005 after two other bands (Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment) decided to merge together. The band consists of Derek Sanders, Alex Garcia, Brooks Betts, Jeremy Lenzo, and Jake Bundrick. After they released their first EP, Mayday Parade hit it big by snagging a tour spot with the Plain White T's, and they soon started to generate excitement over their fun and energetic new sound. In 2007, Mayday Parade released their debut full-length album, A Lesson in Romantics, and shortly afterwards they scored a headlining spot at the 2007 Vans Warped Tour. With an incredible momentum and a phenomenal alternative rock sound, Mayday Parade had quickly become one of the most talked about new bands on the scene.

Over the next few years, Mayday Parade toured heavily all over the world, performing shows everywhere from the US to Europe and beyond. They went on even more tours with bands like The Academy Is, We the Kings, A Rocket to the Moon, and We Are the In Crowd. Mayday Parade also recorded a couple of covers of songs for Punk Goes Classic Rock and Punk Goes Pop 3, including a cover song of Queen's "We Are the Champions" and Jason Derulo's "In My Head".

No matter where their tours took them, Mayday Parade always found themselves performing in front of excited and packed audiences, and each time they stepped out on stage, they earned more and more fans. Not only has Mayday Parade become a regular Warped Tour act, but they have also embarked on countless headlining tours around the world, making them one of the most beloved alternative rock acts around.
