From the musically inclined city of Baltimore comes Maysa, the singing sensation who has been wowing audiences with her
incredible vocal ability for decades. By the age of six, Maysa had already determined she was going to be a singer, and she
spent her elementary and high school days performing in choir and musical theater productions. Maysa majored in Classical
Voice Performance at Morgan State University, and during her studies there she began writing and recording original material.
This classically trained voice continues to grow and expand, and every performance is a new experience.
In 1994, after years of working with other music legends including Stevie Wonder, both in Hollywood and in London, Maysa
returned to her native Baltimore to record and release her first solo album. The self-titled debut shot to the top of the
charts, cementing Maysa's status as a world-class singer and performer with limitless star power. Over the years, Maysa has
continued to release brilliant solo work that wows critics and amazes audiences everywhere. She has contemporized many standards
as well as recorded innovative neo-jazz tracks that demonstrate her musical genius.
While Maysa is no newcomer to the music scene, her ninth solo CD, Motions of Love, which boasts cameos by the legendary
Stevie Wonder and neo soul crooner Dwele, promises to introduce the veteran soul and smooth jazz vocalist to the widest audience
of her career. She first gained fame as the featured voice on British acid jazz band Incognito's defining `90s era hits such
as "Don't You Worry About A Thing" and others. Building on that stunning work abroad as well as her work in the States, Maysa's
latest work is without a doubt her best work yet, and as she embarks on a new tour with these hot new tracks, she's going
to blow the doors off every venue and have everyone rethinking what is means to be a jazz singer.
With a sultry alto on par with Phyllis Hyman and Patti Austin's honeyed notes, Maysa is easily one of the most well-respected
jazz voices on tour today, and her legend continues to grow with every performance. Everyone who has had the pleasure of seeing
this diva live has been beyond impressed with her reinventions of old songs as well as her masterful solo work, and all of
it comes wrapped in the voice of a woman in a league all her own. Hurry over to StubHub to get your jazz tickets to hear Maysa live!
