MetLife Stadium is a stadium located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The main function of this venue
is to serve as the home of the National Football League franchises of the New York Giants and New York Jets. People flock
to this venue each and every week of the NFL season to see these two teams host some of the top clubs in football. The Giants
play in the NFC East division, so every season their divisional foes come to MetLife Stadium to take on the G-Men. These teams
include the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. As for the Jets, they are a part of the AFC East
division, and regularly see the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills come to town. Fans of both teams love
to see divisional matchups, but those aren't the only great games that draw people to this park. Teams from all over the country
arrive at MetLife Stadium throughout the season to see if they can leave with a victory, but the home team always has something
to say about that. This is a fantastic place to catch a football game, and nothing beats being there live and in person when
your favorite pro football squad emerges from the battle on the gridiron with a much-needed victory against a tough opponent.
MetLife Stadium is a new venue in the scope of the National Football League. The structure was
built in 2010 and was originally named New Meadowlands Stadium before changing the name to MetLife. The New York Giants and
New York Giants both funded the construction of the building privately, splitting the bill 50/50. The stadium has already
played home to some incredible sporting events, not only featuring the Giants and Jets but other teams and other sports. This
is one of the top venues in the National Football League, though, and regularly sees a packed house for games throughout the
pro football season.
MetLife Stadium has already seen some incredible contests played
on its field in its relatively short history. The first game to be played there, however, was not a football game, as one
might expect. The stadium opened its doors to the public for the first time on April 10, 2010 for the Big City Classic, a
lacrosse event. The New York Giants played the first National Football League game there on September 12th of the same year,
taking down the Carolina Panthers in that opening game. The New York Jets played their first game at MetLife Stadium the following
night on Monday Night Football, hosting the Baltimore Ravens. The stadium made history when it was named the site of Super
Bowl XLVIII. It was the first time in many years that the Super Bowl would be held in a cold weather city that didn't have
a domed stadium. That says a lot about the quality of this venue.
