New York Mets-Pittsburgh Pirates Matchups

Just a short road trip away for fans no matter where this one goes down, there has never been a better time to come out and see two talented National League teams like the Mets and the Pirates do their thing in front of a great crowd. These are two teams that have had their trials and tribulations, in addition to each having some of the greatest players in history, making each and every one of their matchups something to behold if you love great baseball between old school powerhouses. Once you're there in the middle of a big game loaded with twists, turns and bench-gripping moments, you'll definitely be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else.

And that's because, when the Pirates and Mets are in the middle of a nail-biter, you can count on the entire league to be watching, though the best place to actually be is in the stands where you can join in the fanfare. With this level of superstar talent down on the field, absolutely anything can happen when the Pirates and the Mets hit the field, but you're not really going to learn that from home. There may be lots of different ways to follow the Pirates and Mets these days, but seeing the game alongside thousands of your fellow fans is the only way to truly appreciate the action.

New York Mets-Pittsburgh Pirates Team Info

In an exciting new era of baseball, the Pittsburgh Pirates have another talented roster absolutely packed to the brim with players that can turn a game on a dime, making it always a great time to put down the remote and head out to the stadium to see the big Pirates game the way it was meant to be seen. Be there for all the highlight-reel catches, explosive stolen bases and skyscraping homers that will have you jumping out of your seat on a regular basis.

But one team that also has its fair share of prideful fans and talented teams is the New York Mets. The Mets have had plenty of great moments of their own over the years, and are always looking to pull it back together and get right back to the top of the league. With a couple of World Series titles and plenty of legends who have come through the organization, the Mets have the type of franchise that is never held down for long, providing lots of reasons for optimism for fans all over Queens and beyond.

MLB Experience

Dating all the back to the early days of the Olympics and chariot racing, people have been pouring in by the thousands for spectator sports, and that's not something likely to change any time in the near future. Things have changed a bit these days, of course, but there are still some amazing sporting events that need to be seen up close and personal. When you're there in the middle of a game that could go either way, with the buzz of the crowd steadily rising, you'll definitely understand loud and clear what all the excitement is all about.

Mets-Pirates History

Pittsburgh Pirates MLB tickets have been in the sports tickets market since the late 1880s, though the Bucs had some of their best years in the 1970s while they won two World Series titles thanks to a guy you might have heard of: Roberto Clemente. Other great players include Willie Stargell, Bill Mazeroski and plenty more, giving the Pirates a long history of iconic players, memorable seasons and one of the best fan bases in the league.

MLB tickets to see the New York Mets, on the other hand, were never hotter than in 1969, when the Miracle Mets won the World Series and put together a season that fans still talk about to this day. They even won another world championship in 1986, though Mets fans are waiting for them to return to the top of the league. Great players to dominate for the franchise include Daryl Strawberry, Doc Gooden, Tom Seaver, Keith Hernandez and more, and you never know when the next all-time great is going to burst onto the scene. Whenever the Pirates and the Mets get together, you can count on there being an atmosphere that you definitely don't want to miss out on.

Mets-Pirates Trivia

Did you know that Willie Stargell won the National League MVP, the NLCS MVP and the World Series MVP in the same year for the Pirates?

1979 was a pretty good year for Stargell and the Pirates. Even though Stargell, oddly enough, didn't even make the All-Star team, he pretty much won every other major trophy they could hand out that year, leading the Pirates to their fifth – and most recent – World Series title.

Mets-Pirates Fans

PNC Park is one of the top places around Pittsburgh to see a big game, and you can count on the Pittsburgh faithful to be pouring into the stands all season long – particularly when the Pirates get to go up against a talented National League team like the Mets. Over in Queens at Citi Field, the Mets also have an unbelievable place to see a big game, though you probably should see it first-hand sooner or later. No matter where this one goes down, it will be a perfect reminder of why Major League Baseball is still a premier spectator sport.
