Michele Branch was born in Arizona and she started singing lessons when she was 8 then learned to play the guitar at the age of 14 and was writing her own songs soon after. Branch played the local clubs and eventually was home-schooled by her parents so that she could pursue her dreams as a musician. Branch released her debut album Broken Bracelet in 2000 independently. She released her next album Spirit Room in 2001 after she got signed with Maverick. This album included the hit "Everywhere."
