entire world, though that's something you're not really going to be able to gauge sitting at home watching the action on that
tiny little flatscreen. This is a sport that gets taken to a completely different level when your pulse starts to quicken

Michigan State Spartans History
In 1979, Michigan
State came out of one of the most well-known games in college basketball history as the National Champions. Led by Magic Johnson
the Spartans took on Larry Bird's Indiana State team for the championship game. The friendly rivalry that began between those
two superstars on that day would continue in the NBA as Johnson played for the Lakers and Bird for the Celtics and they would
again battle each other for championships as professionals. Recently, the Spartans have also had some great seasons, running
their Final Four appearance total to eight and giving them their 12th different appearance at the Elite Eight level in the
Tournament. With the Spartans hoping to pull it together and capture that elusive championship, there are plenty of reasons
why fans are as glued as ever to Spartans' basketball.
Michigan State Spartans Trivia
Did you know that
Magic Johnson originally intended to be a broadcaster instead of a pro basketball player?
Though he obviously had some
serious talent before coming to Michigan State University, Johnson was much more focused on his academic career at the outset,
particularly with his desire to pursue a career as a broadcast journalist. Well, things changed quite a bit in his freshman
year, when he put together one of the best freshman seasons in Big 10 history and led the team to a 25-5 record on the season
– making him an instant legend who would go on to become one of the greatest basketball players of all-time.
