2014 Michigan State Spartans Men's Basketball Schedule
This is one of the premier teams in the country for a reason,
and it definitely isn't because there is a lack of excitement when the game is on the line and the Spartans are digging in
looking to put the final touches on a huge win. The Spartans tend to be loaded with rim-rocking playmakers who can do a little
bit of everything, making fans get used to seeing their team play an exciting brand of basketball that always has fans buzzing
all over town. There has never been a better time to put down the remote and make sure that you get out to see the action
first-hand, as the Spartans won't go quietly despite playing in one of the premier conferences in college basketball.
you've never been to a Michigan State Spartans basketball game, then it's probably time to change that, as there is nothing
like watching college hoops when it's played at its highest possible level. It's never easy in the ultra-competitive Big 10,
but the Spartans once again have a talented roster that certainly won't go quietly in conference play this season. Once you're
there and watching the Spartans in the middle of a nail-biter, with the electricity of the crowd steadily rising in anticipation
of an epic finale, you'll see for yourself that college basketball needs to be experienced from the stands.
There's nothing like being in the stands when the game is on the line, so ditch the couch, brush off the
potato chips and get ready to see a game you won't soon forget. College basketball has plenty of great games on the schedule
each and every season, from plenty of top-tier regular season battles to Tournament clashes that you'll have to see first-hand
to believe. These are some of the best amateur athletes in the entire world, though that's something you're not really going
to be able to gauge sitting at home watching the action on that tiny little flatscreen. This is a sport that gets taken to
a completely different level when your pulse starts to quicken for all the crucial moments of a big game, and you'll soon
understand for yourself that there is nothing that can come close to seeing the Spartans do their thing in person.
Come out and be there for all of the rim-rocking jams, spectacular blocked shots and bench-gripping
moments that have become standard operating procedure for the Spartans. With a talented team bursting with talented underclassmen
and savvy upperclassmen who can get the job done, it's always a great idea to keep an eye on the schedule so you don't miss
a second of the action. Though the Spartans have had a long history of excellence and success, it's been in recent seasons
that fans have started to daydream about watching their boys run the table and take home a championship – and many believe
it's only a matter of time considering the strength of the program and coaching staff.
Michigan State Spartans
Did you know that the Spartans have been to the Final Four eight different times?
The Spartans have made
quite the mark on the Big Dance, the year-end tournament that is one of the most followed sporting events in the country and
world. The first Final Four appearance happened in the late-1950s but the Spartans have made it to the Final Four six different
times since 1999, providing plenty of big-time thrills as fans have gotten a bit spoiled about the talent level that routinely
comes to East Lansing.
Michigan State Spartans History
In 1979, Michigan State came out of one of the
most well-known games in college basketball history as the National Champions. Led by Magic Johnson the Spartans took on Larry
Bird's Indiana State team for the championship game. The friendly rivalry that began between those two superstars on that
day would continue in the NBA as Johnson played for the Lakers and Bird for the Celtics and they would again battle each other
for championships as professionals. Though there have been plenty of other winning seasons, fans fondly look back on their
championship team as the gold standard for the program, and the team is eager to make another run through the Tournament that
gives them another crack at a title.
Each season, as the college basketball season heats
up there is arguably no better place to be than at Jack Breslin Student Events Center, the East Lansing, Michigan home of
the Michigan State Spartans. Year after year, the Golden Gophers recruit some of the best talent in the country to come play
ball and this year is no exception. Basketball is a huge deal throughout Michigan and a Spartans home game is an experience
like no other. With the fans providing the perfect atmosphere for all the biggest games of the season, there is nothing quite
like being there when the game is on the line and the Spartans are looking to put the finishing touches on a clutch win.
