Michigan State Spartans Basketball Schedule
The Michigan State Spartans are ready to rule over every team they
meet on the court this season, as they'll be faced with some of the top teams in all of college basketball. The Spartans always
have a team brimming with talent, and that should be no different this season. The Spartans did lose some talented players
to the NBA in the offseason, but head coach Tom Izzo should have this squad primed and ready to go in 2014-15. The Spartans
are coming off a fine 2013-14 in which they notched nearly 30 wins in the regular season. They were ousted in the NCAA Tournament
a bit sooner than expected, but it was yet another successful season in East Lansing. The team would love to equal or exceed
that performance in 2014-15, but it's going to take some huge wins both at home and on the road this season. The Spartans
look up to the task, but only time will tell.
The Spartans will surely be looking forward to playing the Wisconsin Badgers
this season. The Badgers are one of the Spartans' Big Ten opponents, so the teams will play in both programs' home venues
in 2014-15. The Badgers made it all the way to the Final Four last season, and they're sure to be a formidable opponent yet
again this time around. State would love to sweep the season series.
Of course, two of the biggest games of the year
will be when the Spartans match up with the Michigan Wolverines, both at home and on the road. The Wolverines posted the best
record in the Big Ten last season and made a solid run in the NCAA Tournament. This team has also lost some key contributors
form last season, but they're likely to reload and be ready to compete. This is a great rivalry, which makes for exciting
basketball every time out.
Michigan State Spartans History
The Michigan State Spartans basketball program
goes back a long way, and has steadily grown into a powerhouse in the college hoops world. The Spartans have had some truly
memorable seasons along the way, but few are looked back at more fondly than the 1979 season in which the legendary Magic
Johnson led the Spartans to the program's first National Championship by defeating Larry Bird's Indiana State team. There
has likely never been two better players leading their teams in the National Title Game, as both would go on to become all-time
greats on the pro level. The Spartans have been to the NCAA Tournament too many times to count, and have reached an astounding
eight Final Fours. The Spartans have won the National Championship on two occasions, a number the program would love to add
College basketball is one of the most popular sports in the country, and fans all over
the nation flock to arenas to see some of the best amateur athletes in the world hit the court and lay it all on the line.
The Michigan State Spartans have one of the best hoops programs in the nation, and annually seem to be fighting for a spot
in the Final Four. Spartans fans love to head out to the arena to be a part of the action, and you can join in on the fun
this season. The action on the floor will have you up and out of your seat, cheering on Michigan State like you're a graduate.
The Spartans will be hosting many great matchups this season, but they'll also be taking to the road for some exhilarating
action on the hardwood. Make sure you're there top experience it all live and in person this season.
