In 1986, the world learned all about a 14-year old violin prodigy from
Japan named Midori. That summer, while playing with the New York Philharmonic, the young artist played so passionately that
she broke the strings of her instrument. Twice. She grabbed another violin and kept right on going, never missing a beat.
That kind of resolve continues to this day, as Midori continues to perform internationally with the finest orchestras.
