Mike Skiner won the inaugural race, holding off a large pack of drivers that included eventual Toyota Tundra 200 champions Jack Sprague ('96), Ted Musgrave ('01), and Greg Biffle ('99). The Milwaukee Mile now hosts many different NASCAR and similar racing events throughout the calendar year. It is the oldest operating motor speedway in the world, and until 1953 the Milwaukee Mile was a dirt track.
