The Minnesota Twins franchise was founded in 1894 as the Kansas City Blues. In 1901, the team moved the
nation's capital in Washington D.C. and played there for six decades as the Washington Nationals and the Washington Senators.

Did you know that Kirby Puckett smacked at least 200 hits
for four consecutive seasons at one point playing for the Twins?
From 1986-1989, Puckett absolutely dominated pitchers
from around the league, leading the league in hits three of those for seasons and marking him as one of the greatest hitters
in franchise history. It was during those seasons that Puckett would have his best season as well, as Puckett drilled 24 long
balls and drove in 121 RBIs while hitting a gaudy.356 in 1988.
