Minor Alps Background

Seasoned musical artists Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws comprise one of the newest acts to eclipse the music scene, Minor Alps. Neither artist is a stranger to music with Hatfield previously having her own solo career as well as being a member of bands The Juliana Hatfield Three, Some Girls and Boston-reared Blake Babies, and Caws serving a tenure in the indie-rock band, Nada Surf.

They initially popped up in late August of 2013 with their premiere single, Buried Plans, which was followed by their debut full-length album, Get There. This album contains tunes like I Don't Know What To Do With My Hands and Far From The Roses.

Both had close calls with mainstream success with their standing as MTV-approved alternative rock acts in the dawn of the 1990s.

You can be sure there are more great things to come from Minor Alps. Make sure you stay tuned!

Minor Alps Hit Albums

Get There is the premiere collaborative album from the gifted Minor Alps. Eleven tracks are included on the album, and Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws played every single instrument to contribute to the album's sound, excluding the drums.

On Get There, you don't get the impression that one song is "his" and another song is "hers." This album exemplifies what a true collaboration is all about. They co-penned all of the lyrics and played all the instruments, sans drums. Their album puts the singers in front of the mic simultaneously, creating a seamless vocal.

Minor Alps Trivia

Did you know Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws of Minor Alps first collaborated on the song, Such a Beautiful Girl? Yes, it's true! That's when Caws lent his vocals to the song from her album, How to Walk Away.

It was apparent from brief moments like these that Hatfield and Caws were destined to make music together. As Hatfield said, "In certain ranges, the tones of our voices are so similar I can't tell which is which. I haven't experienced that with any other singer."
