Raised in Lindale, Texas, Miranda Lambert is the daughter of a retired police officer, Richard Lambert, who later became
a private investigator with her mother, Beverly Lambert. In her formative years, she was taught by her father about guns and
even became a deer hunter. A Garth Brooks concert she went to with her parents at the age of nine ignited her interest in
country music. Her father also wrote and performed country music and it wasn't long before Miranda entered into talent contests
under his guidance. She kicked off her career by gigging at local restaurants. She appeared on the Johnnie High Country Music
Revue in Arlington, Texas, at age 16, and scored a recording session in Nashville. She ended up leaving the studio after becoming
frustrated with the pop music sound. She returned to Texas and asked her father to school her on playing guitar so she could
churn out her own original material - a lifelong skill that has done her well.
While still in high school, Miranda Lambert took up with the band, The Texas Pride Band. She was the leading lady for the
band at the Reo Palm Isle Ballroom in Longview, Texas, noted for showcasing Willie Nelson, Brooks & Dunn and Elvis Presley.
In 2003, she tried out for Nashville Star and placed third on the show. She has touted her music at many venues, including
The Tap in College Station, Texas, when she was 18. Also in 2003, she signed with Epic Records. Me and Charlie Talking, a
tune co-written by her father and Heather Little, was her debut single in 2004. The album was Kerosene, which contained 12
songs; 11 of which she co-wrote. The album earned the prime spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and eventually
reined in a Platinum certification by the RIAA for shipments of over one million copies. This premiere album earned four Top
40 singles on the Billboard country charts, with the title track earmarked as a Top 20 hit. As you know, Miranda Lambert's
hits have not stopped there. She is still cranking them out today! To hear her perform her award-winning songs live, reserve
