        West End’s Miss Saigon was written by Claude-Michel Schonbery and Alain Boubil with lyrics by Boubil and Richard Maltby, Jr. It premiered at the Theatre Royal, Drury Land in London in 1989 and closed in 1999, but not before a revival act had begun on Broadway’s Theatre in 1999. The musical is a modern adaption of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Madame Butterfly.
