Mississippi State Bulldogs Football Schedule in 2014

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are ready to chase down some big wins at home this season as they face off with some of the top teams in the sport of college football. The Bulldogs have plenty of talent dotting this roster, and they're hoping that it will help them take the next step in climbing the division ranks. The Bulldogs play in the SEC, generally considered to be the best conference in football, so their schedule is always packed with tough games. This season will be no different, but hopes are running high following a solid spring for this program. The Bulldogs put together a string of productive practices leading up to their annual spring game, in which the quarterback play was superb. Starting quarterback Dak Prescott was very good during his time under center, racking up 131 yards through the air on 7 of 9 passing and adding a score both on the ground and through the air. Prescott will mean a lot to the Bulldogs this season, but it's also good to know the team has some solid depth behind him. They're going to need good quarterback play if they're going to take down some tough opponents at Davis Wade Stadium this season.

The Bulldogs know they're in for a real battle on October 11th when the Auburn Tigers come to town. The Tigers were the best team in the conference last season and made it all the way to the National Championship Game. While they did lose some players in the offseason, they appear to be a strong squad yet again, one that it's going to take a lot to defeat.

Mississippi State has another big game on November 1st when the Arkansas Razorbacks take to the field at Davis Wade. The Razorbacks will be looking to shred the defense that the Bulldogs put out there, so every player has to remember his assignments and play disciplined football. This should be one of the more exciting games to catch in person this season.

Mississippi State Football History

The Mississippi State Bulldogs first took the football field back in 1895 and have been taking on the best teams in the sport ever since. The Bulldogs have had some memorable seasons along the way, and most of them have taken place in Davis Wade Stadium, which the team has called home since 1914. The Bulldogs have only been able to win their conference title one time throughout their long history, but they have racked up more than 500 wins over the years. The Bulldogs have been to 18 postseason bowl games over the course of their history, winning 11 of those big contests. This program has also had two players named as All-Americans, one of the greatest honors a college football player can receive. The Bulldogs would love to add another trophy to their history this season as they take to the field.

Fan Experience

There is nothing better than seeing a sporting event live and in person. Sports have been a part of cultures around the world for a very long time, and spectators have always enjoyed watching athletes compete at the highest of levels. When you're there in the stands at a sporting event like this one, you're treated to seeing some of the most talented athletes in the entire world going head to head with everything on the line. There's nothing that compares to the atmosphere at a game, where you're surrounded by fans that are all there to enjoy a great spectacle of sport.

Fans of college athletics bring an intensity to the table that is paralleled by very few pro sports fans. There's something about the top level of amateur competition that really gets the crowd going. College football fans carve out their entire Saturday to celebrate all that comes with the game. These die-hards are up early and off to the stadium parking lot for tailgating before the game. Once inside the stadium, they can be heard screaming their heads off for their favorite team to come out on top. It's a real thrill to be in the stands when the star player takes it into the end zone for the win.

When you head out for a big football game you're sure to experience all that comes with a gridiron clash. The parking lot at the stadium will be filled with people gearing up for the big game, grilling up some grub and sipping on a few beverages as well. It's all one big lead up to the main event, which is the game itself. It's all one great experience that really takes an entire day to appreciate, and you can be a part of it all when you head to a game.

Mississippi State Bulldogs Football Fans

Mississippi State has had a football team since 1895 and generations of locals have been raised to cheer for the Bulldogs. College football is a big deal in Starkville, Mississippi and the crowds at Davis Wade Stadium are as loud and enthusiastic as anywhere else in the country. The Mississippi Bulldogs have some great fans, and those fans love to see a rivalry game. The Bulldogs' main rival is the Ole Miss Rebels who they play every year in the Egg Bowl. The game used to be called the Battle of the Golden Egg and Ole Miss and Mississippi State have played each other since 1901. Another big rival is Alabama who they play in the Battle for Highway 82, also known as the 90 Mile Drive. Unfortunately for the MSU Bulldogs this rivalry has been considerably lopsided in Alabama's favor but Mississippi State is always looking to start changing that. Mississippi State and Alabama first played against one another all the way back in 1896 and this represents the SEC's longest running series.
