Molson Amphitheatre

Molson Amphitheatre History

The Molson Amphitheatre has been around for quite a while, opening in the early 1970s and becoming a major icon of the local entertainment scene in the city of Toronto for a reason. From big-time concerts to unbelievable sporting events, this is just one of those venues that you have to make it out to if you're ever in the Toronto area looking for some major entertainment. From a music standpoint, it all started in 1995 when Bryan Adams came to the stage and gave Toronto music lovers a taste of his popular tunes, and from there it's been one great concert after another ever since.

Over the years, this has been a place that has all types of huge concerts, particularly when it comes to hip-hop. Jay-Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne and Kanye West have all performed at the Molson Amphitheatre, as have punk rock bands like Green Day and Blink 182. Put everything together and you have a venue that is always absolutely loaded with great concerts from one year to the next, keeping up the legacy of one of Toronto's best venues for live entertainment.

Molson Amphitheatre Events

Whether it's Arcade Fire, Rascal Flatts, Motley Crue, or any of the other top-tier shows and musicals that you might find at Molson Amphitheatre, this is just one of those venues that you need to turn up at once in a while if you love live music played by world-class artists. Sure, there are plenty of options for entertainment these days, but you're never going to recreate the live musical experience from no matter how hard you try. Once you're there in the middle of a great show featuring one of your favorite musicians, you'll definitely be glad that you're not anywhere else, as the live music experience is still second to none.

Molson Amphitheatre Trivia

What was the original name of the Molson Amphitheater?

The answer is the Ontario Place Forum, which was the name of the building when it opened in 1971. The name was changed to the Molson Amphitheater in 1994 when the old building was demolished and the new structure was put in place. The moniker stood ever since, ushering in an era featuring some of the most famous musicians in the world.

Molson Amphitheatre Experience

The Molson Amphitheater is a fantastic place to catch a show, something that many people over the years have come to find out. This venue can seat up to 16,000 fans for the most anticipated concerts, which is a perfect number as it's big but not too big, allowing for a major show without it feeling like you're watching your favorite band from a mile away. When you're there and one of your favorite musicians is taking the show to the next level, you'll definitely be glad that you made it happen, as it's still tough to match a live concert featuring a great band in front of an electrified crowd. Toronto is an internationally known city with plenty of entertainment options, but the locals know that it doesn't get any better than this.
