The band Monster Truck was formed in 2009. Guitarist Jeremy Widerman tossed the idea around of starting a riff rock side project. Once Widerman came up with the name, Monster Truck as the band's name, he then approached current members to see if they'd be interested in joining the project even though all members were committed to other music groups at the time.
