Montreal Alouettes Schedule in 2014

The Montreal Alouettes are ready to take to the field this season and battle it out with all of the top teams that call the Canadian Football league home. The Alouettes have a lot of quality players on their roster this season, and they are hoping that these athletes can take them to the top of the standings. Montreal plays in the CFL's East Division along with the Toronto Argonauts, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. It's never easy to come out on top of the standings, but that is certainly a goal the Alouettes have in mind in 2014. Montreal was able to win eight games in 2013 and reach the postseason, but they narrowly lost their first-round matchup with Hamilton in overtime. The Alouettes are back in 2014 and are ready to take on all comers at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, and you can be there in the stands to root for the home team. Don't miss out on supporting your favorite CFL team this season, because a good crowd can be enough to put the team over the top for a victory.

Montreal will certainly be looking forward to hosting the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this season on September 7th. The Tiger-Cats barely took down the Alouettes in the postseason last year, notching a 19-16 victory that was sealed in overtime. The Alouettes will be out for revenge this time around, and they'd love to shut down the Hamilton offense and show the rest of the East Division that they mean business in 2014.

October 13th will bring a tough game the Alouettes' way, as the reigning Grey Cup Champion Saskatchewan Roughriders will take the field in Montreal. The Roughriders had a great playoff run last season, and the team is surely looking to duplicate that success in 2014. The Alouettes could make a huge statement by taking down the champs in front of their home crown. Take a peek at the rest of the schedule as well.

Montreal Alouettes History

The Montreal Alouettes have been part of the CFL tickets market for decades, dating all the way back to 1946. With seven different Grey Cup wins, the Alouettes have one of the richest histories in professional sports in North America, and every game is steeped with tradition when the Alouettes hit the field. Over the years, the Alouettes have had plenty of great players come through their roster, and you never know when the next all-time legend is going to burst onto the scene with a banner season that will have everyone buzzing around town. Today, the Alouettes play regular season games at the well-attended Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, and then migrate to the larger Olympic Stadium, dubbed "the Big O," for playoff games, allowing more CFL fans to watch a perennial contender. With greats like Dickie Harris, George Dixon, John O'Quinn and many more, the Alouettes have an incredible tradition of bringing top-tier players to town, and that's not likely to slow down anytime soon as the Alouettes look to keep the pressure on the rest of their Eastern Conference foes.

CFL Experience

If you've never seen a Canadian Football League game from the stands, then you've been missing out on one heck of a sports experience. The CFL has a lot of talented players that have either played in or will one day play in the National Football League. Former NFL players like Warren Moon and Doug Flutie played in the CFL before making the move to the states, so you know there are some truly talented players in this league. When you're there in the stands with thousands of your fellow fans for all the crucial moments of a big game, you'll see that this is a sport that springs to a completely different level when you get a chance to see it the way it was meant to be seen – and it definitely isn't from home wondering what the atmosphere of the stadium is like.

Montreal Alouettes Trivia

Who was the first head coach of the Montreal Alouettes?

The answer is Lew Hayman, who coached the team from 1946 to 1951. There have been some great coaches to man the sidelines for the Alouettes over the years, but Hayman will always be the first.

Montreal Alouettes Fans

If you crave hard-hitting CFL action and a team deep with tradition and promise, then you'll want to join all the biggest CFL fans in the stands to see this team hit the field at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. As soon as you're there watching the action and feeling the energy in the stadium rise for all the crucial moments of a big game, you'll see that there is still no duplicating the live football experience. In a season sure to have its fair share of twists, turns and bench-gripping moments, the stands will be hopping all year long as the Alouettes do their thing.
