Munn Ice Arena is a hockey arena located on the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing, MI. The arena is home to the Michigan State Spartans hockey, serving as the venue for all the team's home games each season. Munn Ice Arena was opened in 1974 and is named for the famed Michigan State football coach and athletic director Clarence Munn. The Spartans have had a lot of big games in this arena since, and hockey fans in the East Lansing area frequently head to Munn Arena for all the biggest hockey matchups each and every season. In the 1980s the Spartans hokey programs developed into one of the most dominant in the nation, frequently taking down top opponents in front of sell-out home crowds in Munn Arena. The Spartans set the record for the longest streak of consecutive regular season sellout crowds from 1985 to 2004 with 323 straight games where Michigan State hockey fans packed the house at Munn Ice Arena.
