MysteryLand Music Festival Tickets - MysteryLand Music Festival

MysteryLand Music Festival: The Electronic, Music, Culture and Arts Party

Attention U.S. fans of Netherlands-based MysteryLand Music Festival. This one-of-a-kind international festival is going stateside. Now people across the United States, as well as across the world, can enjoy the eclectic music and activities Mysteryland has to offer.

MysteryLand plans to hit the famed Woodstock, NY venue where one of the first major music festivals was held in 1969. The festival will be taking over Bethel Woods for two days from May 24-25, 2014. If the festival proves to be popular, it may expand to other venues in the U.S. that support its mission of bringing people together through music.

Mysteryland offers a variety of electronic music acts as well as activities. The festival usually includes a healing garden where people can practice yoga under the guidance of an experienced master, art installations and all sorts of music. It features various big-name and lesser-known musical acts and has different musical programs lined up at different times.

Mysteryland is the oldest dance music festival in the Netherlands. When it was created, it was the only festival of its kind in its home country. It soon expanded from one weekend in August in the Netherlands to include a sister festival in Chile. Coming to America was a natural extension of its mission, and it is thrilled to be coming to Woodstock because the Woodstock Festival of 1969 brought people together from all over the globe via music, which is what Mysteryland hopes to do with all of its festivals.

Mysteryland's lineup includes quite a few bands every year. Featured musicians usually play electronica, as this type of music is most conducive to dance. There are two separate stages, and bands play at various times throughout the weekend. The festival starts on Friday night and ends on Sunday night, giving people the opportunity to enjoy plenty of music.

This festival began in 1993 with just a few acts and has grown steadily since; it has been held in the Netherlands every year except for 1995 and has expanded to include Chile and the United States, furthering its mission of bringing world citizens together through dance music.

In the early 1990s, MysteryLand Music Festival was a small, one-day festival in the Netherlands. Although the festival grew in popularity and size, it did not expand internationally until 2001. That year, it held a festival in Chile as well as the Netherlands, making it an international festival for the first time. This festival proved popular enough that MysteryLand was able to continue hosting two festivals a year and attract more high-quality acts. In 2013, MysteryLand announced that it was expanding to the United States for the first time. It also decided to add a Friday night component to its lineup.

Albums from Past Performers

Mysteryland has featured a variety of talented performers from all over the world. Some notable past performers include New Jersey based band Xenon, whose self-produced first album, America's New Design, sold 20,000 units (considered impressive for an independently produced debut), Dutch artist Isis Van De Wel, who is one of the first female Dutch DJs and whose mix albums 100% Isis and 100% Isis 2 both hit the Dutch Top 10, and the German DJ and singer Axwell, whose albums Sweet Disposition, Save the World and Don't You Worry Child were all Grammy-nominated.

Festival Experience

Mysteryland Music Festival is usually held partially outdoors. Participants can pick and choose the bands they want to hear by checking out the lineup ahead of time and can stay for as long as they want after purchasing tickets for a particular day or the entire weekend. Participants also have the opportunity to visit the Healing Gardens to practice yoga and meditation, and can purchase food from a variety of cultures while at the festival.
