NCAA Tournament - West Regional Tickets

NCAA Tournament West Regional tickets

NCAA Tournament – West Regional Schedule

Each season when the college basketball season gets under way every team has one goal in mind: win enough games to make it to the NCAA Tournament. By the time March comes around and teams have been selected they are looking to advance as far as possible. Teams making the South Regional have already advanced past the first weekend of the tournament and now have their eyes set on the biggest prize of them all, a trip to the Final Four and a potential National Championship. These teams are some of the best in college basketball and they are all looking to keep their miraculous run alive and be the last one standing in the regional round.

The West Regional traditionally has some of the best teams and is one of the toughest brackets in the tournament and this year should be no different. The 2014 West Regional will be held in Anaheim, California at the Honda Center, home of the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL and an arena that has hosted big time college basketball as well. The Sweet Sixteen will take place on Thursday March 27th, while the two winners of Thursday's games will square off on Saturday the 29th in the Elite Eight with a spot in the Final Four on the line. No college basketball fan will want to miss the excitement of watching four skilled teams battle for a chance at the National Championship so start making plans to be in Anaheim in March now!

About the Teams

Each year sixteen teams are chosen to take part in the West Regional and are given seeds from number one through number sixteen. The number one seed in the region is ranked as one of the top four college basketball teams in the country and is given a legitimate shot at winning the National Championship. However, in the NCAA Tournament things do not always go as planned which is precisely what makes it so exciting. Year after year there are underdog teams coming seemingly from out of nowhere to knock off the powerhouse programs and continue to advance. This year you may have the chance to see the next legendary Cinderella run take place in Anaheim when the West Regional hits the Honda Center. The amazing athletes taking the court during the NCAA Tournament and leading their teams to victory are the NBA stars of the future and you have the chance to see them playing their hearts out for their school before they make it to the pros. In many ways the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight are part of the most exciting weekend in college basketball if not all of sports, and some of the closest games in the NCAA Tournament occur during the Regionals.

The Experience

College basketball is an sports event unlike any other. Featuring many of the greatest student athletes in the world along with some of the most passionate fans in all of sports, these games have an atmosphere that cannot be found anywhere else. When you step into the Hinda Center for West Regional semifinals and finals this will all be clear. As the teams get set for the opening tip off, fans stand up and loudly cheer for their favorite team. The game continues full of back and forth action, big time shots, and clutch defensive stops. Before you know it the clock is winding down in the second half and the two sides are wrapped up in yet another historic NCAA Tournament game. Your palms get sweaty with each trip down the floor and each time a player from your favorite team lets loose a shot you hold your breath until the ball tickles the twine. This continues until the final buzzer when the winning side erupts after another big win and their fans flow out of the arena in jubilation.

NCAA Basketball

March Madness is an event even casual sports fans know well, and millions end up filling out brackets at work or with friends. The ubiquity of the brackets in March turns millions of sports fans into sudden college basketball experts but really the only way to know what you are talking about come tournament time is to follow the season from the start, seeing how certain teams match up and what could be the fatal flaw of a serious contender who is doomed to fall to a Cinderella in March. The one and done nature of the postseason tournament gives every school that makes the field a chance and this is precisely what makes NCAA basketball such a thrill.

Trivia

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament dates back to 1939 and now features 68 teams who are invited to participate. To date UCLA leads the pack with 11 national titles while Kentucky is second with eight. Ten of UCLA's eleven National Championships were won under the guidance of legendary coach John Wooden, arguably the greatest basketball coach of all time.
