2014 New Orleans Saints Road Schedule

One look at the road schedule this season for the Saints and you'll see all kinds of different opportunities to see the Saints the way they were meant to be seen, as this is one of the most exciting teams in the league and teams always like to bring their A-game when the Saints are in town. Come out and see all of the electrifying catches, spectacular throws and nail-biting moments that will have you jumping out of your seat on a regular basis throughout the season. We all know that Mercedes-Benz Superdome is the place to be whenever the Saints are in the middle of a huge home game, but you'll also find plenty of passionate fans hit the road to travel with the team and show their support away from home as well.

New Orleans will certainly be looking forward to taking on the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, NC this season, as they'll play the Panthers during a riveting Oct. 30 matchup that will have fans headed to the East Coast to see if the Saints have what it takes to bring down the reigning division champs. The Panthers edged out the Saints for the division crown by a single game in 2013, and New Orleans is surely looking to exact their revenge in 2014. Other huge divisional road matchups include the season-opener in Atlanta on Sept. 7 and the season finale in Tampa on Dec. 28.

There are plenty of other top-tier matchups as well, however, and fans are definitely not lacking in prominent opportunities. A Sept. 28 matchup with the Cowboys in Dallas is another game fans will have circled on their calendars, and there will be no lacking in fanfare when the Saints head to Detroit on Oct. 19 and Pittsburgh on Nov. 30. With all kinds of challenges for the Saints this season, there has never been a better time to head out and see if Drew Brees and the boys can take the next step forward and again challenge for a Super Bowl.

New Orleans Saints Team Info

The New Orleans Saints had a fine season in 2013, making the postseason after narrowly missing out on winning the NFC South title. Sean Payton's return to the team made a world of difference for the Saints and their players, as Drew Brees again appeared to be one of them most unstoppable forces in the National Football League. Tight end Jimmy Graham had a season for the ages, as he's solidified himself as arguably the best player at his position. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan also has done a fantastic job shoring up things on the defensive side of the ball, making the Saints true contenders in the NFC again thanks to a well-balanced roster that an do a little bit of everything.

New Orleans Saints History

The Saints were founded in 1967 and have played in New Orleans for the duration of its existence. The team won its first Super Bowl during the 2009 NFL season, defeating the Indianapolis Colts in the big game and launching Drew Brees' status from superstar to franchise legend. The team has reached the postseason 10 times, and won their division title on five occasions, pointing out that this is a team that has seen plenty of success over the years. But even though they have a rich history as well, the current Saints' era is the most exciting that the franchise has ever seen, as they have consistently been major factors in the division and the NFC as a whole thanks to one of the most explosive offenses year in and year out.

New Orleans Saints Trivia

What was the first venue that the New Orleans Saints called home?

The answer is Tulane Stadium, where the Saints played during their first season in 1967. In 1975, the team moved to the Superdome, which the club has called this venue ever since, aside from a period following Hurricane Katrina. The Saints returned to the field there in 2006 in one of the most emotional games in the history of the National Football League, and from there the Saints have enjoyed a very successful run that has built them into an NFC powerhouse.
