New Orleans Saints Road Games

New Orleans Saints Road Schedule in 2014

The New Orleans Saints are ready to match all over the nation this season as they take on some of the top teams in the National Football League. The team is coming off a very good 2013 season and look like a good bet to make it to the playoffs again this season. The New Orleans offense looked much sharper with head coach Sean Payton back on the sidelines last year, and quarterback Drew Brees was dominant yet again. Tight end Jimmy Graham has emerged as one of the premier pass-catchers in the entire National Football League, and not just as a tight end. Combine these offensive factors with an improved defensive unit under the tutelage of defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and you've got the makings for a successful football team. The Saints have their eyes set on the NFC South division crown, and are going to have to win some big games on the road in order to capture that title.

New Orleans will certainly be looking forward to taking on the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, NC this season. The Panthers edged out the Saints for the division crown by a single game in 2013, and New Orleans is surely looking to exact their revenge in 2014. That is not going to be easy, though, as the Panthers have one of the top defensive units in the National Football League. This defense smothered opponents both on the ground and in the air last season, and this group appears to be a tough unit again this year. The Saints will also have to contend with a Carolina offense that features one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league in Cam Newton. Newton has improved mightily as a passer since coming into the league, and his physical prowess makes him a dual threat that defenses struggle to contain. The Saints would love to win this game, as well as contests against Tampa Bay and Atlanta as well. Road games always give you a sense of how good a team is.

New Orleans Saints Team Info

The New Orleans Saints had a fine season in 2013, making the postseason after narrowly missing out on winning the NFC South title. Sean Payton's return to the team made a world of difference for the Saints and their players, as Drew Brees again appeared to be one of them most unstoppable forces in the National Football League. Tight end Jimmy Graham had a season for the ages, as he's solidified himself as the best player at his position in the entire league. The Saints have struggled to find consistency on the ground, but that's nothing new for this pass-happy offense. Still, the team would surely like to establish a more reliable running game in 2014, especially because it can help in a big way come playoff time. The biggest difference in this team now as compared to past season should come on the defensive side of the ball. In years past the porous New Orleans defense has spoiled some incredible performances from the offense, but that seems to be behind this franchise. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has done a fantastic job shoring up things on the defensive side of the ball, making the Saints true contenders in the NFC again.

Fan Experience

The National Football League is the best of the best when it comes to American sports, as more people follow the NFL than any other sports league in the country. The most dedicated of fans follow their favorite teams on the road, attending more than just home games. Fans of the New Orleans Saints will have the chance to travel with the team this season as the Saints vie for victories against some of the toughest clubs in the NFC. You can be there to witness all of the incredible action for yourself, so don't miss out.

New Orleans Saints Trivia

What was the first venue that the New Orleans Saints called home?

The answer is Tulane Stadium, where the Saints played during their first season in 1967. In 1975 the team moved to the Superdome. The club has called this venue home since then, aside from a period following Hurricane Katrina. The intensity of the storm was shown when it did significant damage to this dome. The Saints returned to the field there in 2006 in one of the most emotional games in the history of the National Football League.
