New York Giants Schedule in 2014

When the Giants hit the gridiron for an exciting matchup against a prominent foe, the only place to be is the stands, where you'll actually be a part of the excitement in a way that you simply can't from your living room – no matter how big your high-def TV is. There has never been a better time to ditch the couch and get out to a game loaded with some of the brightest stars of both today and tomorrow as the Giants look to make some big-time noise in the NFC East, though it's never easy against teams like the Redskins, Eagles and Cowboys. The schedule is packed once again with great games, providing plenty of different options to see big games all season long.

The big games also come early and often in 2014, with the season kicking off in a big way in the first week of the season as the Giants play the Lions on the road on Monday Night Football, where they'll have to suppress a tough passing attack that has been dicing up defenses in recent seasons. Home games against the Cardinals (Sept. 14) and Texans (Sept. 21) will also be highly anticipated matchups and a Monday Night Football matchup that will be Giants-Colts on Nov. 3 is sure to be a buzzed about game weeks before it actually kicks off. A Sunday Night Football home game against the Cowboys on Nov. 23 will also have plenty of playoff implications to go along with the fanfare. And the regular season excitement, pitting the Giants against the Eagles on Dec. 28, will also be one of the most talked about games of the year – likely one again loaded with major implications for the postseason.

Giants Team Info

OK, so last season wasn't exactly the Giants at their best, but anyone who watched them closely saw that there are still lots of pieces to build. They also saw a lot of heart, as the New York Football Giants recovered from an 0-6 start to win 7 of their last 10 games. With Eli Manning under center, some talent in the receiving corps and some rising stars on defense, you know the Giants won't be held down for long, giving you plenty of reasons to head out to the stands this season so you can get right in the middle of the heart-pounding excitement. The NFC East may be one of the toughest in the league, with foes like the Cowboys, Eagles and Redskins always looking to make it difficult, but the Giants have become major players in the division for a reason, and fans are eagerly anticipating a return trip to the top of the standings.

And one way that the Giants definitely helped themselves move towards doing exactly that was in the draft, where they added some key pieces to the puzzle. First-rounder Odell Beckham Jr. out of LSU is also known to stretch some defenses, as he's the type of wideout who can be a threat to score any time that they throw the ball his direction. Looking to give Eli a bit of protection, the Giants also snagged tackle Zack Martin from Colorado State, giving the G-Men some fresh blood on their offensive line. With an exciting new look, the Giants will be looking to rebound from 2013 with a 2014 season that will have fans buzzing all over town.

The Experience

Seeing an NFL game in person is unparalleled in sports, as the National Football League is the most popular sports league in the United States for a reason. Every contest involving the New York Giants is sure to be packed to the brim with big hits, highlight reel catches and pinpoint passes that leave all those in attendance simply in awe of these players' physical abilities.

When you hit up the parking lots at MetLife Stadium, you'll see why going to the game isn't just a three-hour experience inside the stadium but a full day of barbecuing and fan fun. Tailgating is a way of life for NFL fans, and you can be a part of the action before the game by getting into a touch football contest before kickoff. Once you enter the stadium, though, is when the real game begins and your job is to cheer for your favorite team as loudly as possible, because that could make all the difference in the game.

Giants History

The New York Giants originally joined the National Football League in 1925, and are the only remaining organization of the five that entered the NFL that year. Early into the franchise's history, the team was officially known as "The New York Football Giants" in an effort to distinguish the organization from the New York Giants baseball team that eventually moved to San Francisco. The Giants won the NFL Championship four times before the NFL merged with the AFL and changed the landscape of American football forever. The Giants have won the Super Bowl multiple times in the recent era as well, including two wins against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Giants Trivia

The day of the 2004 NFL Draft, the New York Giants put together a big package to acquire franchise quarterback and first overall pick Eli Manning. Who did the Giants select with the fourth overall pick in that draft before trading that player in the deal for Manning?

The answer is North Carolina State quarterback Philip Rivers, who was traded to the San Diego Chargers, the team that originally drafted Manning with the top pick. It turned out that both put together stellar careers so far and are always a threat to take their team to the top of the league, making it a win-win for both cities.

The Fans

NFL Tickets to see the New York Giants will get you into New Meadowlands Stadium, a top-tier new venue that is known for being one of the best football stadiums in the world. Sure, you can get a glimpse of the big game from your living room or the bar down the street, but it's a different experience altogether to actually be there when the game is on the line and thousands of exciting fans are eagerly watching. With a state-of-the-art stadium, a legendary fan base and plenty of talent on the field, Giants' games are not to be missed this season.
