The fabulous Chilean electronic artist Nicolas Jaar will be performing with the Joshua Light Show
at The Barbican Hall and Warwick Arts Centre in London on October 5 and 6, 2013, respectively. Jaar will also perform as part
of the duo Darkside at fabric in London on October 7. Darkside is additionally expected to play shows at Berghain/Panorama
Bar and AB in Berlin, Germany, on October 8 and 9, respectively. Later on in October, Jaar will be part of the lineup at Simple
Things 2013 in Wales on October 12, and at Resident Advisor at the Warehouse Project on October 19. Darkside will be part
of the lineup at Trouw at Concertgebouw at Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on October 18.

A: Jaar has described his songs as being ruminative and emotional, and thus classifies
his music in the "blue-wave" genre. He gets his inspiration from fellow Chilean Ricardo Villalobos and minimal techno. The

Chilean musician Nicolas Jaar has found fame in the United States. He majored in
comparative literature at Brown University in Rhode Island. Additionally, Jaar is the owner and founder of his own record
label and art house Clown & Sunset. He was born in New York City on January 10, 1990 to Alfredo Jaar and Evelyne Maynard.
He spent the majority of his early childhood in Santiago de Chile, the birthplace of his father, Alfredo Jaar, who is an artist
and filmmaker. He and his family stayed in Chile for six years before they finally moved back to New York. Jaar was bitten
by the music bug after his father bought him several copies of Ricardo Villalobos' Thé au Harem d'Archimède and
Luomo's Vocal City.
Later on, Jaar befriended Soul Keita and Nikita Quasim on a school trip through the Sonora desert
in Mexico. The three bonded over their love of music, and started swapping beats and projects online. In 2009, Jaar launched
Clown & Sunset as a way to legitimize their music.

debut, which was named "Radio 1's Essential Mix Of The Year 2012."

Jaar released his debut album Space Is Only Noise in January 2011 to critical acclaim, garnering a
score of 8.4 and the title of "Best New Music" from Pitchfork and four stars from The Guardian. The disc was ranked #1 album
of the year by Resident Advisor, Mixmag, Crack Mag, #2 by DJ Mag, and #20 by Pitchfork. His track "Don't Break My Love" also
scored the title of "Best New Music" by Pitchfork in late 2011. Pitchfork additionally placed the song "Space Is Only Noise
if You Can See" at number 44 on its list "The Top 100 Tracks of 2011." Jaar toured in support of the album with a full band,
blending sounds from his laptop with a guitarist, drummer, and saxophonist. Resident Advisor awarded them the #1 spot on their
"Top Live Act 2012" list.
