Notre Dame Fighting Irish Schedule in 2013-14

Each year as the college basketball season heats up Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center the Indiana home of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish's basketball team is one of the most exciting places in the world to be. This season is a landmark one for the Irish as it is their first in the ACC and they will be looking to start up some intense rivalries with their new conference foes. The Fighting Irish's schedule is packed with games against some of the best college basketball teams in the country and no college basketball fan will want to miss a second of the action at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. The Fighting Irish are poised to make a return to prominence this year, so get in on the excitement right from the start.

The Irish have a tough matchup coming their way at Purcell Pavilion when the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech hit the court in South Bend on February 26th. This is a big ACC matchup for the Irish, as the Yellow Jackets are going to look to sting them early on and get out to a big lead. The Yellow Jackets have a roster filled with talented players, but so do the Irish. If the Irish can get a win against Georgia Tech in this contest, it would send a message to the rest of the conference that Notre Dame is not messing around.

Notre Dame will close out their home schedule this season with a matchup against the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Panthers always have a tough squad, and this season should be no different. Irish head coach Mike Brey will have to do whatever it takes to get his team ready for this tough contest, as the final home game of the season is always one that players and fans really want to win. Beating a team as good as the Panthers would be a huge victory to close out the season in South Bend and gain some momentum before heading into the ACC Tournament.

The Irish have reached several Elite Eights and one Final Four, but have yet to break through and win a National Championship. Great Players for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are well-known for their great football players, but the basketball program has seen its fair share of fantastic players as well. Dantley won National Player of the Year honors while playing for the Fighting Irish, and established himself as a legend throughout the sport. He would go on to play in the National Basketball Association and average more than 24 points per game for his career, a great number.
