The MLB Experience

Major League Baseball is one of the best sports leagues in the world, and they have the fans to match. These fans are about as dedicated to the game as fans can get, and you can see that for yourself when you head out to the ballpark this season to catch an Oakland A's game. A's fans can be found at each and every home game this team plays, cheering on the A's in the hopes of seeing a victory. Put down the remote and get out to the stands and you'll see why it still doesn't get any better than America's Pastime.

Oakland Athletics History

The Oakland Athletics franchise was founded as the Philadelphia Athletics, all the way back in 1901. The organization moved to Kansas City in 1955, then to Oakland in 1968. The Athletics have had some dominant teams over the years, especially in the 1980s and early 90s when the team was able to win three American League Pennants in a row from 1988 to 1990. The organization has a total of nine World Series titles, with all-time greats like Rickey Henderson, Jose Canseco, Reggie Jackson, Mark McGwire and more playing some of their best baseball in Oakland. These days, the A's have been making their mark on American League West each and every season, with playoff appearances in 2012, 2013 and 2014. With a great tradition of winning and an exciting current team, it doesn't get any better than being an Oakland Athletics fan.

Oakland Athletics Trivia

Who holds the single-season record for stolen bases in a season for the Athletics?

This one is a little bit of an easy one, as the A's boast Rickey Henderson as one of their top players in franchise history. With the A's, Henderson put up numbers that made him seem like he might have been playing in a video game, notching at least 100 stolen bases in three out of four years at the beginning of the 1980s. In 1982, it really all came together for Henderson, as he stole a ridiculous 130 bases while setting the all-time franchise record as well as the modern MLB record.
