OhGr is a band that was started up by Nivek Ogre, formerly of Skinny Puppy. This Canadian native started tinkering with sound following the breakup of the band, and eventually lit on a sound that was an interesting mixture of Electronica, Goth Rock, and Industrial. OhGr following the demise of Skinny Puppy, Nivek Ogre continued to collaborate with other artists until he came up with OhGr. The band was officially formed by Nivek in 2001, but the material for the first album dates back to the ‘90s. The band’s first album was Welt which was originally supposed to be the name of the band. Their second album Sunnypsyop, became a hit on Top Electronic Albums.
