The Oklahoma City Thunder in 2013-14

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been storming the court this season as they've taken on some of the best opponents that the National Basketball Association has to offer. The Thunder look like one of the best teams in the NBA yet again this season, and are looking to return to the NBA Finals, where they reached just two years ago. The Thunder call the Northwest Division of the Western Conference home, a division that also features the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz. The Thunder regularly see these four teams come into Chesapeake Energy Arena to try to take home a big victory, but the Thunder are always looking to prevent that. Oklahoma City has prevailed against their division opponents with regularity in 2013-14.

The Thunder look to be one of the best teams in the Western Conference, and the NBA in general. With one of the best players in the league in Kevin Durant, the Thunder have a scoring option that they can lean on each and every game if need be. Durant is not a one-dimensional player, though, as he rebounds, plays tough defense and is becoming a more than capable ball distributor when defenses key in on him. Guard Russell Westbrook has earned his fair share of critics over the last few years, but he remains one of the most explosive guards in the NBA and is a crucial part of the Thunder's blueprint for success. Without Westbrook, the Thunder likely don't have enough firepower to advance in the postseason, evidenced by last season's playoff exit when they were without the UCLA product. Forward Serge Ibaka is a big part of this team's success, especially on the defensive end of the floor. His shot-blocking prowess completely changes how opponents attack the Oklahoma City defense. Ibaka has also emerged as a solid third option on offense behind Durant and Westbrook. It should be a great postseason for the Thunder as they look to rise to the top of the Western Conference standings on their way back to the NBA Finals.

The Experience of an Oklahoma City Thunder Playoff Game

When it comes to the National Basketball Association, the only way to see a game is live and in person. When you see one of these amazing athletes steal the ball from an opponent and go coast to coast for a thunderous slam drunk at the other end you'll know that these are the best players in the world. The crowd goes nuts for these players, and rightfully so. You'll be amazed by the skills these players possess, especially at their size. Make sure to get out to the arena this season to see the Thunder take on another top team.

Oklahoma City Thunder Trivia

Who is the general manager for the Oklahoma City Thunder?

The answer is Sam Presti, who has helped build this team from one of the worst clubs in the league into a NBA Championship contender. Presti is the executive who drafted Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka in just a couple of years. His reputation among fellow NBA executives is glowing.

Oklahoma City Thunder Postseason History

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been to the playoffs quite often since moving from Seattle, but the organization saw a lot of great playoff moments back when they called the Pacific Northwest as well. The Thunder were once known as the Seattle SuperSonics before moving to OCK in 2008. The franchise has won their division title nine times, thrice since becoming the Thunder. As the SuperSonics, the team was able to make the NBA Finals three times, winning the NBA Championship in 1978. The team reached the Finals as the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012 but fell victim to LeBron James and the Miami Heat. LeBron was a man possessed in that series, and even Kevin Durant could not outdo the King. The Thunder are looking to being their first NBA Championship to Oklahoma City as soon as possible.

Oklahoma City Thunder Fans

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a fantastic fan base that always comes out to support their team in a big way each and every season. The Thunder have turned into postseason regulars as of late, and the fans know how to step up their own game come playoff time as well. Thunder playoff games are riveting affairs, and the energy of the crowd at an Oklahoma City postseason contest reflects that. These fans will cheer for the entire 48 minutes of game time if that's what it takes to urge the home team on to victory. The arena is packed for every home game of the regular season, so just imagine the demand for a spot in the stands for a postseason contest. Get out to a playoff game this year and be a part of something special.
