2014 Oregon Ducks Schedule

Even though the Ducks definitely have a great reputation on the gridiron as well, it's best not to make the mistake of thinking that they can't do some serious damage on the hardwood as well. With another talented squad loaded with playmakers who can change the dynamic of a big game in a real hurry, the Ducks definitely won't go quietly in the Pac-12, which means that you're in store for some epic games against some of the very best programs in the country coming down the home stretch. When you're there alongside thousands of your fellow fans for all the crucial moments of a big game, you'll definitely be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else – not that you'll be actually sitting in your seat very often.

It's no joke in the Pac-12 thanks to a steady stream of talented programs that always have their fair share of playmakers. But even though the competition is assured to be stiff, the Ducks always have some big-time firepower of their own, making it always a good idea to make it out and see if the Ducks have what it takes to pile up the wins and make a move up the conference standings. If you've never seen the Ducks the way they're meant to be seen, or if it's simply been a while, there has never been a better time to put down the remote and join in the bench-gripping excitement first-hand.

The Experience

Though we all know the pros are great too, it's something to behold to watch the best and brightest in college hoops hit the hardwood for an exciting game that is sure to be loaded with rim-rocking jams, spectacular blocked shots and nail-biting moments that will have you out of your seat in no time. There's plenty of options for following the Ducks this season, as we all know, but you're way off if you think you're going to conjure up the passion and intensity of the arena by checking out the highlights on your smart phone or squinting at the flatscreen at the other end of the bar down the street from your apartment.

The Team

Against teams like Cal, Arizona State, Stanford, Oregon State and many more in the ultra-competitive PAC-12, the Ducks get to go up against some of the toughest teams in college hoops, though the Ducks also have plenty of talented players that know how to wreak havoc on their opponents from game to game and season to season. Guys like Aaron Brooks, Luke Ridnour and Lauren Gale represent just a tiny sample of the prominent players who have come through campus, and the next superstar might come from anywhere considering the steady string of electrifying players who come to campus at Eugene.

Oregon Ducks Trivia

Did you know that the Ducks have made it to the Sweet Sixteen five different times?

The Ducks first made it to the Sweet Sixteen all the way back in the late-1930s but they picked it back up in 1960 and then again in 2002, 2007 and 2013. Though the Ducks have yet to put it all together and make a run all the way to the top of the country in the modern Tournament era, this is a program that is on the rise and it seems that it's only a matter of time before they're cutting down the nets and bringing a championship back to campus.

Oregon Ducks History

The Oregon Ducks have a rich history that includes many winning seasons and loads of memorable moments over the years. The Ducks played their first season in 1902-03 under head coach Charles Burden, and the team has been putting together impressive seasons ever since. The Ducks have made 10 appearances in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Elite Eight five times and winning the National Championship in 1939. Thanks to an electrifying team loaded with savvy upperclassmen to go along with rising underclassmen, this is a team that you definitely don't want to sleep on as the Ducks look to make it happen this season and give their fans another impressive chapter of their growing hoops legacy.

The Fans

When the game is on the line and the Ducks are digging in looking to make a clutch bucket that seals a huge rivalry matchup, you'll understand loud and clear what all the buzz around campus is about. True, there are plenty of options for seeing a big game these days, though there is still no substitution for the experience you can get from the stands.
