        Before there was the O’Reilly Theater, there was the Lyceum, one of Pittsburgh’s great vaudeville houses in the ‘30s. Unfortunately, this treasure was lost in the 1936 St. Patrick’s Day flood. The O’Reilly was built as the fourth theater project of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, erected on the same spot as the Lyceum and opened in 1999.

        It cost nearly $25 million to build the O’Reilly Theater, which included a number of flashy amenities in its construction that has given it the distinctive reputation it has.
