Orlando Solar Bears Schedule
The Orlando Solar Bears have been one of the most popular sports teams in the area
since their founding in 2011. Playing in the ECHL, the Orlando Bears take part in some of the most exciting and hard hitting
hockey to be found anywhere and the second the team hits the ice on game day at Amway Center, the electricity in the air is
undeniable. Although they are a relatively new team in the league, the Solar Bears have already made their presence felt with

The 2014 season kicks off
on February 6th when the Gwinnett Gladiators come to Orlando looking to score a season opening win against the Solar Bears.
You can be sure that opening day at Amway Center will be one of the most exciting days on the Solar Bear schedule so be sure
not to miss this one. The Kalamazoo Wings come to town for a big three game series from February 28th through March 3rd. If

The Orlando Solar Bears are affiliated with the Minnesota Wild and the Toronto Maple
Leafs of the NHL. This means that every player on the ice is looking to impress the NHL scouts in attendance in hopes of being
called up and are looking to put forth every ounce of effort they can summon to put on a show. Coach Vince Williams will be
looking to get guide the Solar Bears to their first ECHL championship since their founding in 2011. He will be looking for
some big time scoring by speedy forwards Andrew Johnston and Taylor Matson who are more than capable of lighting up the scoreboard.
The team plays their home games at Amway Center which is one of the finest arenas in the entire league and, as such it was
chosen to host the 2015 ECHL All-Star Game. Big things are in store for the Orlando Solar Bears and you will want to be sure

the dropping of the puck the crowd works itself into a frenzy. Finally both teams are ready for face off and the excitement
really begins. Thunderous, bone rattling hits, incredible displays of speed and agility, powerful slapshots, and tremendous
saves set the arena on fire for the following three periods of world class minor league hockey. By the time the final buzzer
sounds your voice is hoarse and your palms are stinging from clapping and giving high fives and you will already be planning

The ECHL is one of the premiere professional hockey leagues
in all of the United States and Canada and 27 of the 30 NHL teams have an affiliation with an ECHL team. More than 500 former
ECHL players have gone on to play on teams in the NHL, and the ECHL along with the AHL are the only two leagues in North America
covered under the NHL's collective bargaining agreement. The league has been in existence since 1988 and currently has 22
teams as members. Both the Hampton Roads Admirals and the South Carolina Stingrays lead the way in the ECHL with three championships
each. The league has its own hall of fame and features outdoor games and all star games each season along with its playoffs
and championship, known as the Kelly Cup.
Although the Orlando Solar Bears have only been in the
ECHL since 2011, the history of the franchise dates back to 1995 when the original Orlando Solar Beards played in the International
Hockey League from 1995 through 2011. After their formation the Orlando Solar Bears became the fourth ECHL teeam to have the
name of a former IHL franchise. The Solar Bears became the third hockey franchise to play in the Orlando following the original
Solar Bears and the Orlando Seals who played professional hockey from 200 through 2004.
