About Ottmar Liebert
Ottmar Liebert was born in Germany, and he spent
much of his childhood tagging along with his family on trips throughout Asia and Europe. By age 11, he had taken up the classical
guitar, but the flamenco style started to catch his interest when he was a young teen. As a young adult, Ottmar Liebert began
performing in Germany, but he relocated to the United States, eventually calling Santa Fe, New Mexico his new home.
1989, Ottmar Liebert had rounded up members for his band Luna Negra, and he went on to release his self-produced album, "Marita:
Shadows and Storms," which caught the attention of local radio stations. Eventually, the record label Higher Octave Music
happened to come across Ottmar's album, and they later remastered and re-released the material under the title, "Nouveau Flamenco."
When "Nouveau Flamenco" was released in 1990, copies of the album flew off the shelves and it has now gone on to sell over
a million copies in the United States alone.
After his breakout debut album, Ottmar Liebert released a number of successful
albums throughout the years, including "Borrasca" in 1991, which went 4x platinum, "Solo Para Ti" in 1992, which was certified
2x platinum, and "The Hours Between Night + Day," which also went 2x platinum. Later albums include "Euphoria," "¡Viva!"
"Opium," and "Leaning into the Night."

"The Hours Between Night + Day," "Opium," "One Guitar," and "The Scent of Light." In addition to his regular studio albums,
Ottmar Liebert has also released Christmas albums, and he participated in the "Artists for Charity - Guitarists 4 the Kids"
program, by contributing his song, "This Spring Release 10,000 Butterflies."
