About Our Last Night
Our Last Night thrashed its
way into existence in 2004, with the final lineup settled in 2006 - Trevor Wentworth (vocals), Matt Wentworth (guitar, vocals),
Colin Perry (guitar), Alex "Woody" Woodrow (bass) and Tim Molloy (drums). These musically inclined childhood friends from
New Hampshire struck out from their quiet hometown of Hollis to perform around the local New England scene and released a
few EP's and demos along the way, notably: We've Been Holding Back in 2004 and Building Cities from Scratch in 2005. It was
not long before their fresh sound and powerful presence caught the attention of Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz and garnered
them a deal with his label, Epitaph Records.
Their official full-length debut album,The Ghosts Among Us, was released
in 2008 and struck Billboard's Top Heatseakers like lightning, peaking at number six. After touring the US, the band worked
with Andrew Wade on their follow-up album, We Will All Evolve. They spent a few years headlining and co-headlining a number
of exciting tours, both domestic and international, before releasing their third studio album in 2012. This album, titled,
Age of Ignorance, cracked the Billboard 200 and reached number twelve on Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums and number thirty
on Top Independent Albums. At this time, guitarist Colin Perry departed the band. After their goal-shattering Indiegogo campaign,
the group self-released two EP's to much fanfare – A Summer of Covers and Oak Island in 2013, with the latter hitting
182 on the Billboard 200 and reaching number two on Top Heatseakers.
The songs of Our Last
Night are noted for being lyrically mature with a metalcore sound that is pure frenetic energy. Popular songs from their studio
albums include "Elephants" and "Across the Ocean" from We Will All Evolve, and "Liberate Me" and "Invincible" off of Age of
Ignorance. "Sunrise" and "Same Old War" from the recently released Oak Island qualify as the band's biggest original hits,
while their most recent video release – Dark Storms - shows signs it is destined to become another fan favorite.
no one doubts the amazing song-writing talent of the band, particularly the composer of most of their work, Matt Wentworth,
what they may be known best for is their trailblazing "Summer of Covers" series, which kicked off in July of 2013 with their
exhilarating version of Adele's James Bond theme "Skyfall." The series also included a fever pitch cover of Imagine Dragons'
"Radioactive," and their furiously unique takes on familiar songs from Rihanna ("Stay"), Justin Timberlake ("Mirrors"), Zedd
("Clarity"), Katy Parry ("Dark Horse"), and even Miley Cyrus ("Wrecking Ball").
When the band formed
in 2004, Trevor Wentworth (who performs vocals along with his brother Matt) was just eleven years old. He was thirteen when
they signed their first contract and went on tour.
The band's cover of Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" was played at the Ducks
versus Kings playoff hockey game on May 12th, 2014.
