Overkill was formed in 1984 by vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth and guitarist Bobby Gustafson. The quartet immediately garnered attention for their brutal, pounding speed. They had a successful career in the metal underground scene, but never saw as much success as the similar group Metallica. They released their most recent album, “Immortails,” in 2007.
