OVO Music Festival Schedule
The OVO Music Festival started in Toronto in 2010 and each year continues to grow with
each year being better than the next. There is no doubt that a good deal of the festival's success has to do with the rap
star, Drake, who started the festival. Drake even named the festival after his record label, OVO Sound. Like most festivals,
his plan was to bring some of the hottest names in the business from all over the world to the Toronto stage. He stood by
his word and got Jay-Z, Bun B, Eminem, Young Jeezy, Fabolos and Kardinal Offishall to the first festival that now continues
to take place every year in the month of August. Audiences will want to schedule two days to spend at OVO, as the festival
is longer than just a day. One of the cool aspects of the festival that leaves everyone with a bit of mystique is that there
are special guest that remain a mystery until the day of the show. The headliners have been announced in advance for the two
days in August 2014. The first night will be the Outkast, with Drake headlining the second night. There is not much cooler
than Ice Cold, than perhaps Drake headlining is own festival. The festival is schedule for Sunday August 3 and Monday August
4 at the Molson Ampitheatre. If you are wondering why it is scheduled for a Monday, the festival is taking place during Caribana
Weekend, which is a bank holiday in Toronto.
About the OVO Music Festival Artists
It is incredibly exciting
to not know who the special guests will be, knowing that you can put faith into the hands of Drake and know the festival will
be worth attending in celebration with all the activities happening that weekend in Toronto. What is unquestionable is who
the headliners are and that they are not to be missed. After all, both Outcast and Drake are two of the top hip-hop acts in
the world. Outkast is returning to the stage again, after having a several year hiatus from the business. One of its biggest
hits was the song, "Hey Ya'." Crowds still go crazy when they hear Outkast play on the radio or on a jukebox at a bar. Prior
to its hiatus, Outkast won six Grammy Awards and even sold 25 million albums. Drake is a multi-talented artist. He is showcasing
his talents by both running and playing the OVO festival. He has released two platinum albums and released a number of hits.
Drake's song, "The Motto" has even been associated with making the term "YOLO" popular. In addition to performing and running
a music festival, Drake has acted in shows on television and runs a record label. He is a winner of a significant number of
awards that include a Grammy, Juno and BET awards. The OVO Festival is not one to miss even without knowing the special act,
after all you only live once.
OVO Music FestivalBreakthrough
The last OVO Music Festival sold out the
venue. The two performers scheduled were James Blake and Wale, but the crowd was excited to see P. Diddy and Ma$e reunited
on stage. There were also other superstars like A$AP Rocky, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Big Sean. It was the first year that
the festival took place over two days and proved to be a huge success leading into the festival this year, which is sure to
be another smashing success. Drake is clearly connected and has the power to bring out all the big hip-hop stars to the table
and the stage.
OVO Music Festival Live Show Experience
The Molson Ampitheatre is quite an incredible venue
and is transformed into everything OVO at this special event. The venue offers stunning views and green areas that coupled
with the best hip-hop fans and stars, it will be a festival that cannot be beat. The sound systems will be complimented by
some of the most elaborate and impressive light shows helping to create a party vibe to dance the night away with an excited
group of festival attendees. What is incredibly special about festivals is that everyone is not only happy to see the headliners;
they are thrilled to learn about new acts that they may have otherwise not seen. In the case of OVO, festival revelers do
not even have a lineup and are putting their faith OVO to bring out the best hip-hop there is.
OVO Music FestivalTrivia
interesting story about the OVO Festival is that it is named after Drake's record label OVO Sounds, which stand's for "October's
Very Own." OVO Sounds is the label attached to a number of his mix tapes in his early days. Another story associated with
the 2013 OVO Musical Festival is that Frank Ocean was scheduled to perform but ended up dropping out when he had back pain.
