Comedian Paul Reiser grew up in New York City, and attended Binghamton University, where he obtained his
degree in music. During this time, he honed his acting talents by appearing in various student theater productions at the
Hinman Little Theater, which was an on-campus community theater organization. However, he later found his calling as a comedian
by performing in clubs around New York during his university breaks.
After performing in local clubs around the city,
Reiser finally got his breakout role in the 1982 film, Diner. In the film, Reiser actually played the role of a stand-up comedian,
which helped showcase his real talents. Reiser followed up this role by appearing in Beverly Hills Cop and Beverly Hills Cop
II. He later appeared in the films Aliens, The Marrying Man, and Bye Bye Love. Reiser also went on to star in various television
shows, including the sitcom My Two Dads, wherein he played one of two possible fathers of a teenage girl. He rose to fame
as a television star with his role as Paul Buchman in Mad About You, a series that he helped to create. Reiser's unforgettable
performance in Mad About You garnered him many award nominations, including nominations for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, an American
Comedy Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
In the 2000s, Paul Reiser went on to appear in the British TV film My
Beautiful Son, and he also made a guest appearance as himself on Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm. Reiser started to explore
his musical talents in 2010, when he collaborated with singer Julia Fordham to create the album Unusual Suspects, and the
duo even embarked on an acoustic tour together after the album's release. During the 2010-2011 TV season, Reiser's semi-autobiographical
comedy series The Paul Reiser Show made its debut, but due to poor scheduling and other issues, the show was canceled shortly
