About Peter Frampton

Guitarist Peter Frampton first started to rise to popularity when he played with the band Humble Pie in the late 1960s. Humble Pie would go on to have a successful career, especially with their album, "Rock On." By 1971, Peter Frampton was ready to embark on his solo career, and he released his solo debut album, "Wind of Change," in 1972, which featured guest appearances by Ringo Starr and Klaus Voorman. Frampton followed up in 1973 with his second album, "Frampton's Camel," and he released his third album, "Something's Happening" in 1974. After he had released a few studio albums, Peter Frampton really started to make a name for himself with his fourth studio album, "Frampton," which was released in 1975. The album contains his now classic hits like "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Show Me the Way." The success of "Frampton" took it to the number 32 position on the chart, and it was eventually certified gold by the RIAA.

Backed by the popularity of his fourth studio album, Peter Frampton released his phenomenally successful album, "Frampton Comes Alive!" in 1976. The album became one of the best-selling live albums in the United States, and it has gone on to sell over 11 million copies worldwide. Songs from "Frampton Comes Alive!" have remained in heavy rotation among classic rock radio stations, and the album features Peter Frampton's signature talk box guitar effects.

Trailing on the success of "Frampton Comes Alive!" Peter Frampton released his next album, "I'm In You" in 1977, which quickly hit the number 2 position on the Billboard charts. The album eventually went platinum, propelled by the success of its title track. Frampton continued to release a number of albums throughout the years that followed, including "Breaking All The Rules" in 1981, "The Art of Control" in 1982, "Premonition" in 1986, and "When All The Pieces Fit" in 1989. His 2006 album, "Fingerprints," went on to win a Grammy Award in the category of Best Pop Instrumental Album. Peter Frampton's most recent album is "Hummingbird In a Box," which was inspired by the Cincinnati Ballet, and contains the incredible instrumentals that fans have come to know and love from this very talented musician.

Peter Frampton's Breakthrough Album

After embarking on his solo career, Peter Frampton released several albums, beginning with his debut "Wind of Change." With the release of his fourth studio album, "Frampton," he found massive success, but this was just the beginning of his legendary career. Peter Frampton's 1976 album, "Frampton Comes Alive!" would prove to be one of the best-selling live albums in the U.S., and it hit the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was selected as the Album of the Year in a Rolling Stone poll, and by the end of 1977, it was still claiming a hold on the number 14 position on the chart. Peter Frampton continued to dazzle audiences during the decades that followed, and his most recent album, "Hummingbird In a Box," has likewise been met with praise by fans.
