Philadelphia 76ers Are At It Again!

True to form, the Philadelphia 76ers are heading into the next season and ready to dazzle their fans with another all-star lineup. Don't miss out on the chance to see the action live with your own eyes.

When it comes to heated rivalries, the 76ers have no shortage, and who wouldn't feel competitive with a team that packs so much talent? The Los Angeles Lakers are the Sixers' biggest rival from the Western Conference. It started up in the late 1970s when superstars like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Julius Irving were heating up the courts. The teams faced off in the NBA Finals three years in a row starting in 1980, and the Sixers won the '83 Final. All was quiet for a while as the 76ers rebuilt their team, leading up to Allen Iverson leading them to victory against the legendary Lakers lineup in the 2001 NBA Finals. Sixers fans also have their own personal rivalry with Laker's player Kobe Bryant.

In the Eastern Conference, the Sixers' fans get extra rallied when facing off against the New York Knicks, since the team is so close geographically, and the Boston Celtics, who also occupy one of the biggest East Coast cities.

The 76ers currently have some of the greatest players on the court, creating huge hype for the season. Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes contribute to the all-star lineup, and the result is one dangerous team that's ready to play some serious ball. Sort out your Philadelphia 76ers parking passes early because the Wells Fargo Center is going to fill up quickly this season. They have their work cut out for them, too, being in the same conference as the Bulls, Heat, Pacers and Nets, but that doesn't faze a team with as legendary a history as these guys have.

Fans have been buying Philadelphia 76ers tickets since the early 1960s, making them one of the oldest franchises in the entire league. Before that, they were playing under the name Syracuse Nationals, even as far back as 1949! This is one seasoned group of ball players. One of their most memorable moments was when they crushed the Shaquille O'Neal-led Los Angeles Lakers in the 2001 NBA Finals. The 76ers are back on the rise this season, and there's never been a better time to check out one of their buzzworthy games.

Hall of Fame Players

When it comes to awards, the players of the 76ers top the charts in almost every category. They boast a whopping 11 Basketball Hall of Famers: Charles Barkley, Al Cervi, Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham, Julius Erving, Hal Greer, Bailey Howell, Moses Malone, Dolph Schayes, Chet Walker and George Yardley. It's hard to beat that roster of superstars! Additionally, they also have had a number of coaches inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame and five players inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame.

Did you know that two of the 76ers attended the same college? That's right, Allen Iverson and Dikembe Mutumbo both graduated from Georgetown. Another little known fact is that player Louis Williams is good friends with Bow Wow from MTV's Cribs. And did you know that the 76ers mascot is a rad, hip-hop bunny? Word has it that he's one of the coolest bunnies you'll ever meet.

Postseason History

This 2012-2013 season, the team placed 9th in the Eastern Division, 4th in the Atlantic Division and tallied up 34 wins and 48 losses.
