Philadelphia 76ers Playoff Tickets

Philadelphia 76ers Playoff tickets

The Philadelphia 76ers in 2013-14

The Philadelphia Sixers started off the season looking good, but their inexperience quickly caught up with them. The Sixers are a young group of players that have a lot of talent on the roster, but it's going to take time to see that talent develop into a winning product on the floor. The team traded point guard Jrue Holiday on draft night in the offseason in an effort to rebuild the team in a mold that fits the new vision of the organization. The Sixers have stockpiled young talent and draft picks and are looking forward to building this franchise from the ground up.

Rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams has been outstanding in his first season, and he is in contention for the Rookie of the Year Award. Carter-Williams has been a leader on the court and put up some huge games, coming up big in clutch moments many times in 2013-14. The Sixers have their point guard to move forward with, and are hoping that Nerlens Noel, who may not see the court at all this season, can be their big man centerpiece to match with Carter-Williams. The Sixers will look to get their young players some valuable on-court experience down the stretch in 2013-14.

The Experience of a Philadelphia 76ers Playoff Game

Nothing compares to seeing a live sporting event in person, and that certainly applies to the National Basketball Association. When the Philadelphia 76ers hit the court in the playoffs, fans will be packed into the stands to see this young team compete with some of the best teams in the NBA. The NBA is filled with amazing players that can do things most people can only dream of on the basketball court. When you're there in the stands and one of the best players in the league is putting on a clinic, there's nothing like it. Make sure to head out and get to a game the next time the Sixers reach the postseason so you can experience all that the NBA Playoffs have to offer, and that is quite a bit.

Philadelphia 76ers Trivia

Who is the current general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers?

The answer is Sam Hinkie. Upon being hired in the offseason Hinkie quickly shook things up, pointing the Sixers franchise in a new direction. Hinkie shipped one of the team's best players out of town on the night of the 2013 NBA Draft, trading All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday to the New Orleans Pelicans. In return the Sixers received a lottery pick that the team used to select center Nerlens Noel, who the Sixers view as a defensive cornerstone to build this team around. Hinkie also received a protected 2014 first-rounder in the deal. Hinkie selected another high upside player with his second 2013 first round pick, drafting point guard Michael Carter-Williams. This signaled that the Sixers were rebuilding around two players with star potential. Hinkie continued his roster makeover at the 2014 NBA trade deadline by shipping out Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner, collecting more assets to move forward with. It's clear that Hinkie has a specific plan in mind and will follow it.

Philadelphia 76ers Postseason History

The Philadelphia 76ers have had a lot of successful seasons over the course of this organization's history, and fans have enjoyed seeing this team hit the court in the postseason over the years. The Sixers have had some amazing contests in the playoffs, and are hoping to add more in the near future. Philadelphia has made the postseason by capturing their division title five times. The team has been able to reach the NBA Finals on three occasions, winning the NBA Championship each time. The last time the Sixers won the NBA Championship was in 1983 behind the duo of Moses Malone and Julius Erving. The Sixers were one of the most exciting teams in the National Basketball Association that season as well, and Malone was named both the regular season's Most Valuable Player and the NBA Finals MVP. The Sixers are looking to return to the NBA Finals sometime soon to capture another NBA Championship.
