Philadelphia 76ers Road Schedule in 2014-15

The Philadelphia 76ers are ready to take to the road this season as the traverse the country and hit the courts of some of the best teams in the National Basketball Association. The Sixers have a team brimming with young talent, one that will certainly be in for a bit of a learning curve this season. However, getting playing time for young players is always great for the future of the franchise, and the Sixers are looking to steal some big wins on the road along the way in 2013-14. The Sixers will travel all over the country, facing divisional foes like the Knicks and Raptors, but also Eastern Conference powerhouses like the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers. Make sure you're there in the stands to catch the Sixers as they take on a top team on the road this season, and you'll be able to see what this team is really made of. It's always an amazing experience to see your favorite team capture a big win away from home.

Philadelphia 76ers Team Info

The Philadelphia 76ers are a part of the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division, where they're pitted against the Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and New York Knicks. The Sixers have made it no secret that they are overhauling their roster in an effort to build a team more keeping with the vision of general manager Sam Hinkie. The team enters this offseason looking to add some more pieces to the puzzle, and they've got some great drafts picks in the 2014 NBA Draft. The Sixers have the third overall pick in the draft, which should net them a fantastic new player. The top tier of players in the draft is three deep, so the Sixers will get whichever player is leftover from the group of Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker. Either of these players would be a nice fit for this young Philadelphia team, and they all offer different things. Embiid is a bit of a project at center, but his ceiling is about as high as it gets. Wiggins is another upside player, only at the wing, but he's ready to start for a team like the Sixers right now and will be a very good defender immediately. Parker has the most NBA-ready game, as his knack for scoring reminds a lot of scouts of Carmelo Anthony. Adding any of these three players to the mix with 2013 draft picks Michael Carter-Williams, who won the Rookie of the Year award, and Nerlens Noel. The Sixers also have the 10th pick in the draft, which should net them another young contributor. Philadelphia has a need for shooting, so the team may look at players like Michigan State's Gary Harris, Michigan's Nik Stauskas and Cerighton's Doug McDermott. It's a very exciting time to be a Sixers fans, as this young team is on the rise in the Eastern Conference. It should be a very interesting offseason and 2014-15 season for the Sixers.

Philadelphia 76ers Trivia

Where did Philadelphia 76ers forward Thaddeus Young player his collegiate ball?

The answer is the Georgia Tech, where he starred for a single season before turning pro. Young has progressed a lot since entering the league, and is now the most productive veteran on this 76ers squad. His play this season has been good enough to dissuade the team from moving him despite the roster reboot. Young could be a player that the team now looks to build around moving forward.

Philadelphia 76ers History

The Philadelphia 76ers first hit the basketball court in 1946 when they were known as the Syracuse Nationals. The organization has had some great players over the years, including Wilt Chamberlain, Julius "Dr. J" Erving and Moses Malone. The Sixers have won one championship since re-joining the NBA in 1976, their lone title coming in 1983. The franchise is looking to add another championship sometime in the near future.
