The Philadelphia Eagles - Schedule in 2014

The Eagles had a very successful 2013 season. They welcomed Chip Kelly to the NFL, and the most intriguing new coach proved his worth by completely turning around the team after a very difficult 2012 season. The Eagles are NFC East champions, and they're looking to build on that going forward. The schedule is as loaded as ever, as the Eagles head into another intense season of action that is sure to be absolutely filled with games against talented teams that will be bringing their A-game once again this season. But the Eagles also have a talented team filled with playmakers all over the field, from rising stars like quarterback Nick Foles to electrifying backs like LeSean McCoy. Add in a staunch defense packed with players who can do it all, it's easy to see that the Eagles are one of the teams to beat in the NFC East, a division consistently considered one of the very best in the NFL from season to season.

Take one look at the schedule and you'll see plenty of exciting games that you know you'll want to be a part of as the Eagles hope to give their fans another exhilarating season that everyone will be buzzing about. The Eagles will welcome their division rivals as always, but they'll also face the Seattle Seahawks and the Carolina Panthers. Sure, you could just park it at the bar down the street from your apartment, but it's a completely different thing to actually get right into the heart of the action this season as the Eagles look to light up the scoreboard and reclaim their spot near the top of the standings.

The Team

Last season, young quarterback Nick Foles largely took the league by storm, delivering an unbelievable season that ended with him in the Pro Bowl. Of course it helps when he's throwing the ball down the field to DeSean Jackson and handing it off to LeSean McCoy, giving this team an intimidating triple threat that has been dicing up the league recently. But don't forget about the defense, as this is a team that has plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball, making for a balanced team that is sure to wreak havoc on the rest of the division for many years to come. As soon as you're there soaking up the vibes of a great game loaded with heart-pounding excitement, you'll be glad that you made it out to see this explosive squad the way they were meant to be seen.

The Experience

The National Football League is filled with some of the most athletically gifted players in the world, and that shows every time they take the field for a contest. The Philadelphia Eagles certainly have no shortage of talent on their roster, and fans can see that for themselves when they pack into the stadium to see this group take to the gridiron. Being there in person is the best way to witness a game, and anyone that has sat in the stands for a big NFL contest knows that to be the case. The excitement in the air at an NFL game is something that every football fan has to experience for themselves, as there's simply no way to duplicate the exhilaration of watching the QB of your favorite team toss the winning touchdown late in the game. It's what keeps the fans coming back each and every season – a tradition that isn't likely to end any time soon around the City of Brotherly Love.

Trivia

The Philadelphia Eagles have retired the number 92 in honor of one of the best players in the history of the National Football League. Who was that player?

The answer is Reggie White, who dominated opponents for the Eagles for years. White put together one of the most storied NFL careers in history, setting plenty of records both in Philly and Green Bay before retiring as arguably the greatest defensive end in to ever play.

Eagles History

The Philadelphia Eagles were formed in 1931 when the local Philadelphia team at the time went bankrupt. The team struggled early on, but began to thrive in the 1940s, winning the NFL Championship in 1948 and 1949. The Eagles have made the postseason more than 20 times throughout their history, and been to the Super Bowl twice, though to date they've been unable to win the big game. The Philadelphia Eagles had some of the best teams in their franchise's history between 2001 and 2006, as they won the NFC East five times in six years to give their fans a great run at the top of the NFC East. Philadelphia has won NFL championships in 1948, 1949 and 1960 and they reached the Super Bowl in the early 2000s as well, with Donovan McNabb leading the way.
