Philadelphia Eagles Schedule

The Philadelphia Eagles are ready to soar this season as they hit the field at home for eight huge matchups in 2014. The Eagles had a fine season in 2013 and really look like they're in a good position to contend for the NFC North crown again. The Eagles have found their starting quarterback in Nick Foles, who thrived in new head coach Chip Kelly's offensive system in his first season as a starter. The Eagles got yet another big season from running back LeSean McCoy, who was utterly unstoppable for much of the year. Philadelphia put together some big wins against some quality opponents, enabling them to capture the NFC East crown. If the Eagles can fly high this season, they could be in position to make a deep playoff run when the postseason rolls around.

The Eagles always look forward to hosting the New York Giants every year, and this season that will occur on October 12th. The Giants had a bit of a down season in 2013, but there is a good chance that they bounce back in 2014. New York has a top quarterback in two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning, who is looking to rebound from his tough 2013. The Eagles certainly have enough firepower to outdo the G-Men this season, but it's never easy playing against such a tough division rival.

Another divisional rival that could give the Eagles some trouble this season is the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have one of the more talented offenses in the NFC yet again this season, and with Tony Romo at the helm the Dallas club is as dangerous as ever. Wide receiver Dez Bryant had a breakout season in 2013, and the Eagles are going to have to contain him when the Cowboys arrive in the City of Brotherly Love. A win against this Cowboys team in front of the home crowd on December 14th would not only affect the divisional standings, but also give the Eagles a lot of confidence heading into the postseason.

Philadelphia Eagles Team Info

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a fine 2013 season, and it looks like the hire of head coach Chip Kelly was a fantastic move for this organization. Kelly found his starting quarterback in Nick Foles, who has played incredibly well since taking over the starting gig. Foles looks like a potential star in Kelly's offensive system, and Eagles fans are surely excited about the possibilities going forward. Foles has displayed all the qualities that an NFL team looks for in a pro signal caller, and the QB threw an astonishing 19 touchdowns before throwing his first interception last season. LeSean McCoy was one of the best runners and most versatile backs in the National Football League yet again this season, making life easier for Foles along the way, and the team added the speedy Darren Sproles into the backfield mix in the offseason. A strong running game always help young quarterbacks, and that should be the case in Philadelphia this season. If the Philadelphia defense can bend and not break, this team should make a serious run at the NFC East title again. Fans in Philadelphia always expect the best from their pro sports teams, and the Eagles are looking to live up to those lofty expectations in 2014 with some huge victories on the road.

Fan Experience

The National Football League is filled with some of the most athletically gifted players in the world, and that shows every time they take the field for a contest. The Philadelphia Eagles certainly have no shortage of talent on their roster, and fans can see that for themselves when they pack into the stadium to see this group take to the gridiron. Being there in person is the best way to witness a game, and anyone that has sat in the stands for a big NFL contest knows that to be the case. The excitement in the air at an NFL game is something that every football fan has to experience for themselves, as there's simply no way to duplicate the exhilaration of watching the QB of your favorite team toss the winning touchdown late in the game. It's what keeps the fans coming back each and every season – a tradition that isn't likely to end any time soon around the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphia Eagles History

The Philadelphia Eagles were formed in 1931 when the local Philadelphia team at the time went bankrupt. The team struggled early on, but began to thrive in the 1940s, winning the NFL Championship in 1948 and 1949. The Eagles have made the postseason more than 20 times throughout their history, and been to the Super Bowl twice, though to date they've been unable to win the big game. The Philadelphia Eagles had some of the best teams in their franchise's history between 2001 and 2006, as they won the NFC East five times in six years to give their fans a great run at the top of the NFC East. Philadelphia has won NFL championships in 1948, 1949 and 1960 and they reached the Super Bowl in the early 2000s as well, with Donovan McNabb leading the way.

Eagles Trivia

The Philadelphia Eagles have retired the number 92 in honor of one of the best players in the history of the National Football League. Who was that player?

The answer is Reggie White, who dominated opponents for the Eagles for years. White put together one of the most storied NFL careers in history, setting plenty of records both in Philly and Green Bay before retiring as arguably the greatest defensive end in to ever play.
