Philadelphia Union Schedule in 2014

The Philadelphia Union are ready to unite and form a right unit this season that is capable of taking down all of the best teams in Major League Soccer. Last season the Union barely missed out on earning a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference, and this year the team is set on securing a spot in the postseason. It's not going to be an easy path to the playoffs in the Eastern Conference; it never is, but that won't stop Philadelphia from giving it their all each and every time they hit the field in 2014. With some tantalizing matchups dotting the home schedule this season, fans are ready to hit the stands to cheer on the Philadelphia Union in 2014.

The Union did not get off to the greatest of starts this season, so they're going to have to step up their game to make some serious noise in the Eastern Conference this season. The Union will have to play their best when Sporting Kansas City hits the field at PPL Park this season on October 18th. Kansas City is coming off a 2013 season in which they put together an incredible string of victories to earn them the MLS Cup Championship. Kansas City is just one of the many teams that will come into PPL Park this season, so check out the schedule and see what home games you'd like to be in the stands for.

Philadelphia Union History

The Philadelphia Union played their first-ever MLS game in 2010, losing to the Seattle Sounders FC 2-0 at Qwest Field and sparking a rivalry that has never really gone away since. The Union play home games at PPL Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, and since their arrival in the league the team has put up some solid fights, including making it to the conference semifinals in the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs, as well as the 2012 semifinals for the CONCACAF Champions League and making it to the 4th round of the CONCACAF Champions League in 2013. The Union are still establishing themselves as a soccer powerhouse in the MLS, but their tenure so far since their 2010 arrival has given the Philadelphia team some bragging rights within the MLS, and they continue to make progress as the Union search for a MLS Cup victory in the near future.

There have been several names come and go since the Union's arrival in the MLS in 2010, and some of the biggest names resonating throughout PPL Park during MLS games include Sheanon Williams, Sebastien Le Toux, Jack McInerney and Zac MacMath. Additionally, players including Freddy Adu, Danny Califf, Eduardo Coudet, Gabriel Gomez, Justin Mapp, Alejandro Moreno, Michael Orozco Fiscal, Veljiko Paunovic, Carlos Ruiz, Bakary Soumare and Danny Mwanga are additional hotshots that have played for the Philadelphia Union since the team's inception in 2010, and all of these players have helped to establish the Union as one of the most intense and prolific teams in the Major League Soccer. With the Union continuing to improve in the Eastern Conference, it's only a matter of time until top players including some the aforementioned names become Union hall of famers.
