Pinback has been an institution in the Southern California indie-rock scene since the late '90s, when the band came together as a collaborative effort between Armistead Burwell Smith IV and Rob Crow. The two musicians' early experiments in contemplative rock produced a self-titled EP in 1999, launching a long and creatively fruitful career.
