Originally known as the Pittsburgh Pirates when they were first entered the league in 1933, the Pittsburgh
Steelers have been the model franchise in the NFL. Owned by the much revered Rooney Family, the Steelers have won a record
six Super Bowl Championships. When the Rooney's hired Chuck Noll to be the Steelers head coach in 1969, the franchise would
never been the same. Together with legendary players and Hall of Famers like "Mean" Joe Green, quarterback Terry Bradshaw,
and wide receiver Lynn Swan, the Steelers would become the most powerful team in the NFL, winning the Super Bowl 4 times in
the 1970's. After Noll's retirement in 1992, the Steelers would plant the seeds for their next golden era with the hiring
of Head Coach Bill Cower. Under Cower, the Steelers would make the playoffs in his first six seasons, thanks to the strength
of the "Blitzburgh" defense. They would win the franchise's fifth Super Bowl in 2005 before Cower retired in 2007. The winning
continued, when the Steelers replaced Cower with Mike Tomlin, winning a record sixth Super Bowl Championship in 2008.
Pittsburgh Steelers Experience
Much like Red Sox Nation in MLB, the Steelers Nation is everywhere. Everywhere
the Steelers go, home or on the road, the Steelers are sure to find a good amount of black and gold in the stands, waving
their Terrible Towels furiously. Their fans take over visiting stadiums when they play on the road, and home games at Heinz
Field are truly one of the most intense home field advantages in all of the NFL. The storied franchise is rich with traditions
of a team who has won more Super Bowls than any other. Don't miss your chance to experience Steeler Nation for yourself.
