        The event has a long history, debuting in 1959 but not hosting another festival until the 1970s, when the Hollywood Bowl became its permanent home. Legendary comedian Bill Cosby has emceed the event for more than a decade. It has a long tradition of introducing jazz legends as well as new artists to audiences.
